In Memory of Nicole Suveges
We are saddened by the tragic news that our former classmate, Nicole Suveges, was killed in a bombing in Iraq on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Nicole is survived by her husband, Dave, and two children.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials are appreciated to the Nicole Suveges Memorial Fund, C/O Wauconda Community Bank, Attn. Dawn Pease or Michael Barbini, 495 W. Liberty St., Wauconda, IL 60084. According to news reports, Nicole was working in Iraq for a private Maryland firm and was helping Army commanders understand Iraqi culture and society. Nicole earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a master’s degree in political science from The George Washington University, and was working on her doctoral degree in international relations at Johns Hopkins University. In her bio on our reunion Web site, Nicole wrote “Sorry I will miss this! Cannot believe it has been 20 years! But, alas, I am on a second tour in Iraq. Have a drink for me!”
